July 13, Monday
Mercury and the Sun will be in conjunction on July 12, Sunday, and July 13, Monday. During Mercury-Sun conjunctions, there is a window we call Cazimi, when Mercury is at the heart of the Sun.
This is interpreted as a time when the channels for prayer and manifestation are open to the utmost degree. Use this time to pray, write or dream about what you want from God or the universe. It does not matter what your religion or belief is; use your own method.
The exact window for this will be roughly from 9:25 p.m. Sunday to 4:45 a.m. Monday, Eastern Time. Convert this to your respective time zone. The highest potency will be between 1:20 and 1:30 a.m. Eastern Time on Monday, July 13.
July 14, Tuesday
On Tuesday, we will have a Super New Moon in Cancer. I have a special blog post for that, and you can read it here.
July 17-20, Friday-Monday
There is a sextile between Mars in Gemini and Saturn in Aries. Let’s unpack this a little.
Aries is a fighter sign. It is depicted as a hot-blooded youth, bold and motivated to take action without thinking about the consequences. Saturn is in its Fall in Aries because it is pretty much the opposite. Its depiction is an old man: wise, slow-moving, responsible and disciplined, always thinking about the long game.
It is a hard combination to work with, but once a person balances the two, they can get the best of both worlds: moving quickly through short-term goals while sticking to the master long-term plan.
Now, between Friday and Monday, it will be easier to integrate these two energies because Mars, the ruler of Aries, will make a nice sextile contact with Saturn from Gemini. Mars in Gemini gives us extra motivation to direct our energy toward intelligence, thinking and communication.
But Gemini is a scattered energy, so we may have been losing focus while running 10 tabs in our minds and engaging with multiple topics. This Saturn contact will provide an opportunity to bring discipline to our mental efforts.
Since Mercury is in retrograde, I would not encourage starting things unless they are very important. But it is a good time to revise our long-term initiatives, push them further and make significant, focused and disciplined progress.
Topics include, but are not limited to, writing, teaching, podcasting, social media, sports, physical training and any blend of them.
Also, beware of rigid thinking, harsh speech, mental fatigue or forcing productivity.
Bonus: Barbault’s Basket
Now, this section is for astrology aficionados.
There will be something happening in the sky that is not necessarily rare on a cosmic scale, but is unique to humankind. It is a basket configuration currently referred to as Barbault’s Basket.
André Barbault was a famous and highly regarded French astrologer. He was probably the first astrologer to predict the COVID pandemic, writing in 2011 that there was a serious likelihood of a new pandemic in 2020-2021.
Alongside those predictions, he also talked about a fascinating astrological phenomenon that excited many astrologers for decades. Many of my colleagues are excited and have been waiting for this event, some for more than 30 years. And it will finally happen this week, between July 19 and 21.
What makes it so special and exciting is that this phenomenon has never happened in the history of human civilization and likely will not happen again for more than 28,000 years. I gave up trying to make the exact calculation. So, in practical terms, this is a one-shot event.
In this configuration, Pluto will be at 4 degrees Aquarius, Neptune at 4 degrees Aries, Uranus at 4 degrees Gemini and Jupiter at 4 degrees Leo, forming trines and sextiles that will look like a basket.
There will not necessarily be one sudden event. Because it involves outer planets, this is a generational development and will roll out slowly.
But the great thing about this is that there is strong harmony between these massive forces. André thought that after the crisis, contraction and downturn beginning in 2020, this aspect would become a launching point for human civilization, taking us to great new heights, with the constructive forces becoming stronger than the destructive ones.
I know that we are not in a better place yet, and it may seem that we are still falling from the 2020 downturn. But André’s research and theory give me hope for our future as humans.
Again, this will not be a single moment. It is a generational event. But if he is right again, the great days for us and for our children are yet to come.
Stay safe.
You have got this,
