Opening

On June 28, Mars will enter Gemini and will stay there until August 11. Mars in Gemini will focus our energy on communication and thinking. It will also increase their pace. It will bring motivation to all kinds of mental and intellectual activities. Let’s dive in and see when and how we can use this.

Essence of Mars in Gemini

Mars is the planet of drive, motivation, and action. Gemini is the sign of communication, writing, teaching, talking, and short-distance travel. The intellectual activities here do not cover depth, but rather the surface. So teaching and writing are not about deep specialization, like a master’s thesis, but rather things that everyone can understand, or presenting a deep topic in a simplified manner for this purpose.

With this motivation, our minds and mouths will run faster. We may output much more than we usually do. Marketing, sales, public speaking, teaching, journalism, and all other forms, like podcasting, are favorable, as we will be motivated. And we will instinctively prefer actions of this nature over physical ones.

The caveats here are that Mars is reckless and Gemini is scattered. We may speak and produce a lot, but the coherence may not be there, so we may end up being chatty. The real danger is the warrior energy of Mars. It will likely increase quarrels during this period. We may want to shout out our anger and use fiery words without thinking. Gossip is another pitfall to be careful about. Reckless Mars may push us to say things without judgment. Nervousness and stress are likely to be common during this period.

Mercury Retrograde Period

If you are thinking, “Hey, this is great! I can start writing the book I always wanted to!” I have some sour news for July.

As you know, we astrologers don’t like the idea of starting new things during Mercury retrograde, as this energy makes things harder for initiatives started during this period. It is not like failure is guaranteed or likely for things that start during Mercury retrograde, but they may need revision and rework more than normal. That is also why we suggest that you work on improving existing initiatives, revising them, and reworking them, as Mercury retrograde energy boosts rethinking.

Unfortunately, there will be a Mercury retrograde starting June 29, just one day after Mars enters Gemini, and it will turn forward on July 23. So there will still be a couple of weeks of Mars in Gemini after Mercury retrograde to start writing your new book or things of the nature we talked about above. Before July 23, it would be better if you focus that motivation on your existing initiatives. But if something must start, that is not bad. It just may need revisions.

The more important thing to be careful about during this Mercury retrograde period is that the retrograde is in Cancer. So everyone will likely be more sensitive and take things personally in communication. Given the reckless Mars energy in Gemini, the risk of quarrels, conflict, and breaking someone’s heart is high. IF YOU ARE ANGRY, LET IT PASS BEFORE COMMUNICATING. Continue your physical/sports routine. You will thank me later.

Fast and Aggressive July

In my earlier posts, I have said that June is a silent month, a break that we deserved after a fast-paced five months of 2026. Now, with July, we are back to craziness. The world will have a very fast July, and Mars has a stake in this.

July 4 is a very interesting day because the Mars and Uranus conjunction will be happening, which brings explosive and unexpected events. Not only does it coincide with the United States’ birthday, but it also has a significant impact on the U.S. chart. Right after, on July 5, Mars has a sextile with Neptune, dreams and illusions, and a trine with Pluto, transformation and power. These three planets interacting with Mars are all generational planets, and anything triggering them has worldwide and generational impacts. Now, Mars’ aspects with these planets are not rare, but all three coming together very close, plus a couple of other events which I will be writing about, tells us we are in for a ride.

I will touch on these topics in detail in my weekly and lunar posts as the dates get closer. But briefly speaking about the part Mars will play, we may see shocking events about leaders and their actions, a faster flow of information with disinformation/misinformation, and power moves that increase tensions between countries and continue wars. I also think there is a likelihood of social upheaval, especially with the effect of the August eclipse, which I will be writing more about. Stay tuned for more information.

Stay safe.

You got this,

Matt
